Introduction to TJU Fuzhou

2018 年 12 月，福州市人民政府、天津大学、福建省教育厅签订协议在榕开展合作办学工作，打造高层次人才培养和战略性科研高地，发挥优质高等教育资源的辐射带动作用。天津大学福州国际联合学院 (International Joint Institute of Tianjin University, Fuzhou，简称福州学院) 为福州市人民政府和天津大学共同举办的独立法人事业单位 (天津大学校内成立同名直属单位)，福州学院是天津大学直属重要战略办学平台，具体负责招生、培养和运行管理工作，全面共享天津大学学科、师资、科研、人才编制与国际合作资源，培养标准、学术评价与本部同质同标、一体化管理。福州学院在电子信息、材料化工、生物医药、化学、城乡规划等领域开设学科专业，聚焦物质科学、生物医药、人工智能 + 等领域开展战略性、创新性科学研究，面向未来培养人才。

In December 2018, the People's Government of Fuzhou City, Tianjin University and the Education Department of Fujian Province signed an Agreement for the establishment of an educational institution in Fuzhou, aiming to build a high-level talent cultivation and strategic research institution, leveraging the radiating influence of high-quality higher education resources. TJU Fuzhou is an independent legal entity jointly established by the People's Government of Fuzhou City and Tianjin University (also as a college with the same name within Tianjin University). As an important strategic education platform directly under Tianjin University, TJU Fuzhou is responsible for student enrollment, education and daily operation, and fully shares with Tianjin University its disciplines, faculty, research, staffing and international cooperation resources. Its education standards and academic evaluation are consistent with those of the main campus under integrated management. TJU Fuzhou offers graduate degree programs in electronic information, materials and chemical engineering, biological and pharmaceutical engineering, chemistry, urban planning, while focusing on strategic, innovative, scientific and interdisciplinary research in the fields of Material Sciences, Biomedicine, Artificial Intelligence Plus (AI+) and so on, aiming to cultivate talents for the future.

TJU Fuzhou has deployed a "1+N" joint education system with world-class universities worldwide. It has established joint institutes with the National University of Singapore and the University of Liverpool, where English-medium instruction, international academic evaluation, and global research collaboration have become the norm. In December 2018, the Tianjin University-National University of Singapore Joint Institute in Fuzhou (abbreviated as TJU- NUS ) was founded. In December 2025, the Tianjin University Liverpool Fuzhou Joint Institute (abbreviated as TJU-UoL), a Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution without independent legal person status jointly established by Tianjin University and the University of Liverpool, was approved to be established. Focusing on internationally cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields, TJU Fuzhou aims to build an international research and innovation highland along the southeast coast of China.

与此同时，福州学院积极融入区域高等教育协同创新格局，立足服务地方发展、深化校际协同合作。2023 年 10 月 26 日，教育部发文支持福州大学城联合研究生院 (简称联合研究生院) 建设，由天津大学与福州大学牵头，福建师范大学、福建农林大学等高校参与，以合作共建方式开展研究生联合培养和前沿学术研究。

Meanwhile, TJU Fuzhou has actively integrated itself into the regional collaborative innovation landscape of higher education, serving local development and deepening inter-university cooperation. On October 26, 2023, the Ministry of Education issued a document supporting the establishment of Joint Graduate School of Fuzhou University Town (abbreviated as Joint Graduate School). Led by Tianjin University and Fuzhou University with participation of Fujian Normal University and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, the aim of the Joint Graduate Institute is to conduct joint graduate training and cutting-edge academic research through collaborative efforts.

2019 年至今，福州学院累计招收优质研究生 1400 余名，当前在读高质量研究生 1000 余名，生源质量优异、科研基础扎实，为教师提供充足、稳定、高质量的研究生资源，助力高水平成果快速产出。学院具有一支由全职教师、研究生导师组成的高水平师资队伍，聘任天津大学导师 190 余名及副导师、企业导师 100 余名，累计招收博士后 40 余名。福州学院为国家自然科学基金依托单位，累计获批国家级、省部级、省市级重点项目共 130 余项。累计发表高水平论文 1700 余篇，一区占比近 90%。申请专利 230 余项。ESI 排名中化学和材料科学专业均跻身全球 1%。

Since 2019, over 1,400 high-quality graduate students have been enrolled into TJU Fuzhou, with more than 1,000 currently on campus. Boasting outstanding student quality and solid research foundations, TJU Fuzhou provides faculty with abundant, stable and high-quality student resources to facilitate the rapid production of high-level research outcomes. TJU Fuzhou takes pride in a high-level faculty team comprising full-time and part-time investigators and instructors, with over 190 from Tianjin University and more than 100 from local universities and industry. It has also recruited over 40 postdoctoral researchers. It is a host institution for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has secured over 130 national, provincial, and municipal key research projects. Remuneration Package: No less than 1.2 million RMB (excluding social security and provident fund borne by the employer), equivalent to similar internationally leading universities.

科研经费：福州学院提供科研启动经费理工科类 600 万元、人文社科类 100 万元，保障人才起步阶段发展需求。

Research Funding: 6 million RMB will be provided for applicants in science and engineering disciplines and 1 million RMB for those in humanities and social sciences as the start-up fund.
